It is everywhere, from the little mirror in the women’s purse and ending with huge mirror walls in stores. Besides, our smartphones are a kind of mirrors too. We used to think about the mirror as the usual household item, for us it is just a piece of glass, coated with a special solution. However, to make this simple, at first glance, thing you need to work hard. The mirror creation process is very interesting. It begins with melting sand which later tin ingots are added to, through that a thin high quality glass cover is created. Then the process of cutting and washing comes and the most important thing that makes the mirror be actually the mirror is the application of the silver sputter. None of these lost sea-going vessels and aircraft (which disappeared, for example, in Bermuda Triangle) and its pieces have been found.

The Devil’s Sea is one of such paranormal things. It might be named differently: Dragon’s, Triangle, the Formosa (Taiwan) Triangle, the Pacific Bermuda Triangle and many others. This is a paranormal zone which could be found near Miyake Island, about 100 km south of Tokyo, Japan. Its tops are Luson, Khonsju and Guam. The Devil’s Sea is a part of the Devil’s Zone. This includes different paranormal locations such as the Bermuda Traingle, the Devil’s Sea, Gibraltar wedge, Hawaii and Afghan paranormal zones. It’s an interesting fact that all these locations are far from each other on 72 degree. All of them are situated on 30th parallel north.

Something strange happens in the Devil’s Sea and in the Bermuda Triangle. Some of researchers of paranormal activity say that the Devil’s Sea is a twin of Bermuda. There are a huge number of accidents of unexplained and strange vanishing during the latest hundred years.

In the beginning

Strange disappearing had happened long time ago. A lot of little boats and ships that belonged to Japanese fisherman disappeared very often in the Devil’s Triangle. None can say what the reason is and where are all these ships and boats. Their colleagues gave a lot of names to that place. It was so strange that even the Japanese government took part in this process too.

First the government showed its interest in 1953. It was caused by mysterious disappearing of three sea-going vessels during six month. The ministers were concerned not about the disappearing (because there were a number of bombs after the War). It was so mysterious and unexplained that nobody could believe it. All the three ships disappeared suddenly. They just vanished from all radars. There weren’t any signals – even a SOS.

In 1954 that place have been researching by the special group. There was a special ship with scientific research expedition. The name of this ship is Kayo-Maru #5 and there were 31 scientists on it. The vessel was there during for two days and keep in touch all the time. But suddenly it has disappeared too and none of information has been received. Then nothing was heard about it.

The Japanese government has analyzed all the accidents that took place in this paranormal zone. Then the Devil’s Sea was proclaimed as extremely dangerous for flights and shipping. It happened in 1955. From now on all the vessels were told to avoid that mysterious zone.

What happened next

Vessels are not the only one that suffered from this zone. Later, in 1979, two of three fighters suddenly disappeared in here, in the Devil’s Triangle. They were on their way back to the base. Connection with them interrupted suddenly. All the attempts have appealed vain.

The third pilot told about this to commanders and got the instruction to find the disappeared pilots right there and now. In a minute they got information about red sphere that was illuminating. It prevented to orient in space using all the devices.

After that they were got another message – heartrending cry of a pilot and then the connection was lost. It couldn’t be reestablished. As to the place, it had disappeared from radars too.

Other incidents

In 1978 a Soviet whaling ship ‘Vladivostok’ (B. I. Ustinenko) was passing through the Devil’s Sea. One of the ship crew was cultivating cereals (including wheat). Everything was alright, but as soon as ‘Vladivostok’ came into the Dragon’s Triangle, something mysterious happened.

Wheat didn’t grow at all. As Ustimenko said, the seed have swollen and then burst out. There was nothing but something white. None of the seed have germinated.

Besides, as sailors said, there weren’t any living creature. It seemed like whale, dolphins, seabirds and other animals didn’t want to be there. Why? This is the question.

What scientists think about the Devil’s Sea

There are some incredible theories about this paranormal zone.

By 1379 Poveglia had been settled by the locals. But they had to leave their homes urgently because the Genoan fleet led by Vettor Pisani, a Venetian admiral, treacherously attacked the island. Thereafter, Poveglia remained a desolate area, unnecessary and unsettled. Some sources say that in 1527 it was offered to give over the island to the Catholic monks order, but the monks refused for the reasons unclear at that time.

During Bubonic plague in Italy, in 1576, Poveglia became a quarantine area again. Whole families including children and even cattle – everybody who had any of the symptoms of the incurable disease was sent there. As the island is small, many of the sick were burnt alive and dug in big pits in order to empty some place for others and to help reduce the spread of the disease. It is said, at that time about 200, 000 people died on the island.

By 1661 the authorities had decided to offer the descendants of the island dwellers, who lived there in the 11th century, to restore their settlements. But even they refused to do it for fear of inheriting the tragic fate of their ancestors.

In 1777 Poveglia became a checkpoint for ships. However, as some incidents of plague were detected on several ships, in 1793 quarantine station for sailors who arrived in Venice was established on the island.

The last straw was the asylum established on the island in 1922. Besides, even healthy people, who were mostly victims of the Fascist regime and Mussolini’s enemies, could be brought to the hospital. The beautiful building of the asylum hid all horrors happening inside it. It was rumoured that the patients witnessed ghosts and some inexplicable events which were the first reason for those horrors. The second reason was the asylum itself. The island is remote from the mainland, and the laws did not have any effect there. So, the patients could be treated and maimed with perfect impunity. The ways of the “treatment” were rather like tortures and experiments on people. According to one story, the head doctor who himself carried out the experiments on the patients threw himself from the bell tower a few years after. The other story tells that his patients threw him down. The asylum was closed in 1968.

Thereafter the island was shortly being used for agriculture, as its soil is very rich. But the cause of its fertility is rather sad: the soil was fertilized with ashes of the people corpses burnt. That is why any activity on the island ceased soon. Since that time the island has been desert. Its visiting is forbidden. Nowadays Poveglia is patrolled by the police boats, but nobody comes ashore.

The asylum buildings have stood the test of time and have remained until the present days: living wards with plank beds, a kitchen, a laundry, houses for staff, a small chapel and an observation tower with a beautiful winding staircase. However, many beams and ceilings have already collapsed. Inside the building there is a lot of equipment, but its functions are quite difficult to explain.

In recent years Italian builders tried to reconstruct the asylum. They stopped, however, without explaining anything, having left only the scaffolding. The legend says that some rich family wanted to buy the island and build a country house there. But having spent a night on the island of death, they gave up the idea without any explanation as well.

In 2007 a few thrill-seekers tried to “walk” around Poveglia, but their stroll ended up with their leaving the island in panic flight. After the negligent daredevils disembarked, their mobile phones lost signal at once, and while their “walking” screams and the ringing of the bell which had been taken away from Poveglia many years ago were heard. A handful of people who had nonetheless visited the island noticed that there were no sounds of birds and insects – even they avoid this place. But near the buildings cries and moans might be heard, and at night some faint lights gleam in the air over the island. It must be mentioned, that everybody who has ever visited the island accidentally or purposely agree on one thing – a human being who spends only a few minutes on the island starts to panic and is overwhelmed by unexplainable horror and desire to escape from this cursed place.

In 2014 the Italian government decided to lease the island for 99 years for building a hotel on it. But so far there is no one willing to lease “the Hell Gates” – as the locals call Poveglia. What will happen next? Will see.

What is the Bermuda Triangle

AdivinacionWe are sure that everybody have heard something about the Bermuda Triangle. Let us guess – this is a paranormal zone where a lot of people and sea vessels have disappeared. So, the Bermuda Triangle is easy to be called a mystery. It says a lot about the Triangle, and there is hardly a person who has never heard of it. But no one can say what it is. Everything that can be said about it has been estimated from the outside.

What is the Bermuda Triangle?

The official sources determine the Bermuda Triangle as a region in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean where everything happening there disappears. On the water surface the vertices of this imaginary triangle is supposted to be Puerto Rico, southern Florida cape and the Bermudas Isles. Near this area navigation does not work, storm and cyclones come.

The mystery surrounding this region is associated with a lot of lost people. Today the Bermuda Triangle is the most dangerous anomalous activity zone in the world where planes, ships and everyone who was on them at that  moment very often disappear without a trace. It is considered the Triangle is a portal to other dimensions, because there is no other way to explain the mysterious disappearances. The Triangle is the code name because the exact area where disappearances occur is slightly wider and has no well-defined boundaries. The vertices and the title are used to make finding of its location easier.

The beginning and the known disappearances

For the first time the public became interested in this anomalous area approximately in the middle of the last century. Its name was given by Vincent Gaddis in 1964, who wrote the article «The Deadly Bermuda Triangle». But before that one of the Associated Press journalists had called anomalous zone as «Devil’s Sea».

The history of modern age has registered the number of disappearances in this dangerous region having the very difficult weather conditions. This number is drawing near one hundred. At the same time there is quite heavy traffic of ships and aircrafts in the Bermuda Triangle. That is why when a radar loose a ship  it is noticed almost immediately because there is always someone around here. However, no one has seen what happens to the missing ship or plane.

Increased attention to the anomalous zone has been paid when entire military squadron consisting of experienced American pilots suddenly disappeared over the Triangle. Five Avenger-s, torpedo-bombers, carried out  Flight 19. The pilots had training of using this type of aircraft, and their job was elementary, just to fly over the ocean on a given route, make two turns and make educational bombing. However, the squadron commander, Lieutenant Taylor, as it was explained in talks with him, had all the navigational instruments fell out, as well as his subordinates. He tried to draw out the aircraft towards the land but it did not work out. Avengers ran out of fuel and they had to splash down somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle. After that, no news has been received from the pilots, the search just did not bring results.

It is noteworthy that during the negotiation process Taylor and his subordinates confirmed that it had been impossible to determine the direction and even the ocean was not the same as usual. As a result, communication with the crew completely disappeared as well as the squadron.

Full-scale searches were organized, but it has not produced any positive results. Moreover, during the search another aircraft «Martin Mariner»  disappeared.

Skeptics moves version of the inexperience of the pilots, because of which they lost. There is also a version of the Squadron explosion. Avengers were not the most reliable and could explode because of a fuel leak. But it is not logical – at once at one point five aircrafts simply can not explode.

Later, in 1963, in the same region cargo ship «Marine Sulphur Queen lost». Without any distress it disappeared absolutely without a trace. It is not known the exact location of the vessel, but according to the route around the time it was supposed to be just in the Bermuda Triangle. And almost immediately, in 1965, in the same area, near the Bahamas, the plane C-119 disappeared into thin air. There were nine people, members of the crew, on the board. As in all previous occasions, it is not known the exact time and area place of loss. But the search was completely futile.

On the one hand, all occurring disasters cause genuine interest on the part of society, and, on the other hand, they are an opportunity to create another raffish sensation.

Theory of the Bermuda Triangle

Now there are quite a number of different theories which are designed to somehow explain everything that happens there. Starting from the most unusual theories, such as aliens kidnapping or Atlantis sunken somewhere in that region , and ending with the faults of space and even black holes. However, there are some more scientific scenarios. The most famous are:

  • Cause of the accident are stray waves that have huge magnitudes of 50 meters in height. They simply engulf the ship and it dies.
  • Ocean generation of infrasound that affects the crews of vessels and causes them to panic. Because of this, scared people begin to throw overboard.
  • The reason for disappearances are huge bubbles of gas which are generated with the ocean. They comprise a methane hydrate. If the boat gets in a bubble it is sure to drown, as the density of matter in it is very low. If the bubble floats to the surface and burst, releasing their contents to the outside, and this time the plane flies over the release, it can fall, too. Because the air is very sparse and not dense, and the devices start to lie shamelessly.
  • Because of the Gulf Stream, a powerful warm current, there weather changes can happen in the Bermuda Triangle.
  • Discovery of the wreckage of boats and the remains of the crews is impossible because of the structure of the Triangle bottom.
  • In addition, there are hypotheses about the magnetic fog and the curvature of space.

Transylvania’s Bermuda Triangle

Every day a lot of people disappear due to inexplicable events. These events are mostly explained with UFOs’ appearing or portals to other worlds being opened. There are many places with similar anomalies all around the world. Among them the Hoia-Baciu forest stands out. It is situated outside a small Romanian town, Cluj-Napoca. For centuries the locals have tried to give a wide berth to this forest.

How All the Thing Started

100 years ago the forest was not that remarkable at all. What frightened people more and drew their most attention was Bran Castle situated near the forest and built by Count Dracula in the 14th century. Though the forest surrounds the castle, it did not cause any concerns. Despite the fear of Dracula’s castle, the locals were not afraid of the woods. It did them a good turn – the forest was the shortest way to the village, people hunted there, gathered berries and mushrooms. Youngsters ran games in the forest. Everything changed, however, one hundred odd years ago. All forest paths became overgrown, slim trees curved, the soil was covered with moss, and almost all animal were gone. No birds were seen in the thickets. Local people believe, Devil came to the forest. One traveler saw Dracula himself hunting at this place.

The First Disappearance

The forest had sown fear among the locals for a long time. But there were no frightening events related to it. Everything changed after World War I. Not far from the forest, in one of the villages, lived a shepherd. His name was Leader, Romanian “Baciu”. He was a very respected person. At that time cattle breeding was the most common business. Baciu succeeded in it. He sold hundreds of his sheep and thus earned the respect.

One hot July day he set up for a fair in Cluj-Napoca with two hundred heads of cattle. In order to get to the fair faster, the shepherd decided to shorten his way and go through the forest. He left early in the morning, and since then he was never seen again. His disappearing was not notices at once. But when merchants, who were waiting for the sheep, could not wait for Baciu any longer, they went to his village themselves. Several thousands of villagers set off for searching him. Thirty five hectares of the forest, meter by meter, were combed. However, neither Baciu nor his sheep were found. Not a trace. Robbers had left this land a long time ago. But even if they still had been there, without being noticed could they not have killed a shepherd and they could not have stolen so big flock of sheep. That is why the local people put the blame of the shepherd’s disappearance on the forest.

Since that time the forest, which people called Hoia, was renamed as Hoia-Baciu.

Mysterious Disappearances Continue

Baciu’s disappearance was followed by a number of other incidents. The locals said, the forest did not stop hunting. Within a few years some more people disappeared. While there are cases that can be taken as accidents, the other events are beyond logical explanation.

One of the most well-known incidents happened after World War II. A young teacher worked at the village school. She was not local there, and she did not believe either in God or in mysticism. In order to prove that everything about the forest is just superstitions of the local people, one day she went to the forest for mushrooms. After a few days people found her sitting in the woods and not being able to speak a word. She died soon, and nobody could find out what had happened to her in the forest.

The forest did not spare anybody. A little girl went there came back by a miracle. But after visiting the forest she could not remember anything: she did not know who she was, where she was from, where she came, even what had happened in the forest. The other time a five-year-old girl disappeared chasing a butterfly. Despite the fear, the locals set up for searching her. They had been looking for her for several days, but the girl was not found. She reappeared after five years, wearing the same clothes and holding the butterfly in her hands. The girl remembered her name and knew where she was from. But according to her own words, there were no five years for her, but only a few seconds while she was chasing the butterfly.

Despite the events being happened, there were some local sceptics who still claimed that Hoia-Baciu was a usual forest. There were even those who were not afraid of going there for mushrooms and berries. Yet among all those people a peculiarity was noticed: almost each sceptic fell ill right after visiting the forest. They suffered headaches and dizziness, skin rashes and vomited without any apparent cause. Doctors failed defining what the people who looked absolutely healthy were suffering. However, they recovered themselves after some time. That was certainly connected with Hoia-Baciu, and the forest got ill fame.

World Fame

In 1960s Alexandru Sift, a Romanian biologist, became the first scientist who began examining the Hoia-Baciu phenomenon. Without caring a straw about the potential danger, he was wandering all around the forest for a long time and took photosets in the thickets. Several times he even stayed for a night in the depth of Hoia-Baciu. The forest did not do him any harm.

The explorer noticed that somewhere in the heart of the forest there was an ideally round glade. On it there was absolutely nothing live. Nevertheless, the samples of the soil from that glade being compared with the soils of other places in the woods did not show any aberrations.

The biologist noted that a round UFO could be seen all around the forest. However, its activity was the highest where a bare glade was situated. After Alexandru had developed the films of his night photosets, he noticed the other unexplainable strangeness. The films had some glowing round objects in them. Those objects could not be seen with a naked eye though. Similar spheres appear in the photos even today.

The locals, however, could give an explanation to the phenomenon. They believe, haunting souls of those who died in Hoia-Baciu fly around the forest. It is all because the land of Transylvania has drunk enough blood during the wars which took place on it.

In 1968 Emile Barney, a Romanian military engineer, got with it. Soon after he started his observations he contrived to take a photo of a UFO above the forest. Scientists established that it was a real UFO of  obscure nature.

A Portal into Other Worlds

Nowadays Hoia-Baciu is being vigorously explored by ufologists from all over the world, though the activity of the forest has decreased. Some people still see those glowing spheres and sometimes hear disembodied voices or notice strange shadows and lights. In winter unusual footprints which do not belong to any creature on the Earth can be found.

People living in the neighboring villages have found their own explanation to all peculiarities of the forest. Now they consider the glade in the heart of Hoia-Baciu to be a real portal to other worlds. Those who disappeared in the forest just vanished into a parallel universe. In turn, all UFOs, glowing spheres and shadows are inhabitants of that very universe, who got to the Earth somehow.

Besides, the locals have remembered about Count Dracula and his castle. Probably, it was the castle that caused all those events. And the castle itself may be a portal to strange worlds.
